Nigeria in Transformation

The Reform Agenda

The first two years of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration have been the years of the reforms. SOWENON proudly stands behind this bold transformation, mobilising Nigerians nationwide to secure the continuity needed to see it through to full delivery in 2027 and beyond.

Oil Subsidy Removal

Ended decades of unsustainable fuel subsidies, freeing up capital for state and local governments and driving Net Foreign Exchange Reserves from $3.99 billion to $23 billion.

Foreign Exchange Reform

Unified multiple exchange rates and closed the 75% arbitrage window that had enriched speculators at the expense of the Naira.

War on Food Insecurity

Over 160,000 hectares of new cultivation in staples like wheat and rice, driving down food prices and easing inflation nationwide.

Local Government Autonomy

Direct allocation to elected local government chairmen and the ceding of 5% of federal VAT share to LGs, where the shoe truly pinches.

Landmark Tax Reforms

Zero tax for low-income earners, VAT exemption on food, healthcare and education, and relief for small businesses under a modernised regime.

State Government Capacitation

Federal allocations to states have tripled since 2023, reflating economies from the ground up and enabling states to double their internally generated revenue.
